bd4travel was founded in 2013 by three former Amadeus colleagues who realised that “personal relevance” has the potential to change the travel industry – and that AI-driven personalisation is the necessary solution to provide the best web experience for each and every individual user.

Today, bd4travel provides a comprehensive solution tailored specifically to tackle the challenges of the travel industry, to listen to its users, understand them and react with the most relevant service. Travel organisations profit from ready-to-go personalisation modules as well as powerful tools to create individual use-cases to enhance the user experience.

bd4travel is based in Germany and the UK. Its solutions are implemented at leading travel organisations in 17 international markets and are recognised with awards from leading travel organisations such as Phocuswright, Travolution and Travel Technology Europe.

In December 2018 dnata, part of the Emirates Group, acquired a majority stake in bd4travel.

Melanie is Chief Product Officer and Chief Operations Officer at bd4travel. She oversees all things from strategy to product management, development and implementation.
Before co-founding bd4travel, Melanie was VP of Product and Marketing at TravelTainment. Prior to that, she worked as Senior Manager, Corporate Strategy at Amadeus, and Product Manager for tourism e-commerce solutions at Start Media Plus.
On her free time, you can find Melanie introducing her two children to the wonders of product development, armed with a box of blocks and legos.
Melanie spends her rare holidays preferably together with her family either in a pool situated in the Mediterranean – or at a nice wellness-hotel in the Austrian Alps.
Andy is bd4travel’s CEO and visionary co-Founder. He oversees business development and the overall growth strategy.
Before founding bd4travel, Andy was the CEO at leading German leisure specialist TravelTainment, which he joined after 10 years at Amadeus. Prior to that, Andy held positions at several international businesses such as British Airways, Deloitte Consulting, and Virgin Atlantic. If Andy hadn’t opted for a business career, he’d probably still be training on the soccer field or travelling.

Andy likes holidays that reunite his family – preferably at the sunny Côte d’Azur or in the Far East.

Steve is responsible for the ground handling and cargo operations at both Dubai airports DXB and DWC, as well as the global travel portfolio of brands.

Steve has extensive experience across many disciplines in the Emirates Group and British Airways. At British Airways he held the roles of Area Commercial Manager Southern Gulf and General Manager Middle East & Central Asia before moving to Heathrow to help design Heathrow’s Terminal 5. Steve joined dnata in 2008 as Vice President Operations, where he was instrumental in the birth of the One dnata Strategy. Steve is also part of the Emirates Group Innovation board, Chairman of the Global Ground Service Providers Association (ASA) and Vice Chairman of the IATA Ground Operations Group.

Steve has two daughters and is a sports fanatic, with a particular passion for cycling, golf, paddle tennis and football.

In 1994, a lonely entrepreneur embraced the controversial idea that quality of information would differentiate winners and losers in the then-burgeoning information age. That entrepreneur was Philip Wolf. The company he founded, Phocuswright Inc., is now the premier source for travel, tourism and hospitality intelligence.

He began his travel career in May 1989 heading a small agency. After two decades of analyzing and scrutinizing market trends, Philip has built a brand around his trademark catchphrase: “Strategically correct, not politically correct.” He is the architect of the annually acclaimed Phocuswright Conference.

Formerly an adjunct professor at NYU’s Preston Robert Tisch Center for Hospitality, Tourism, and Sports Management and distinguished lecturer at the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration, Philip serves as board director on three continents, including two listed companies: chairman, eDreams ODIGEO in Spain and MakeMyTrip in India, as well as Hopper, TrustYou and Blacklane. He is also chairman of travel consultancy Hudson Crossing, as well as board advisor to dnata, DataArt, RedDoorz and ITB China.

He is a magna cum laude graduate of Duke University and holds an MBA from Vanderbilt University. Now based in Truro, MA and retired from an executive role, Philip is an outspoken, provocative and well‐known travel industry figure.
