bd4travel team works from home office as of March 16th
With everything that’s happening about the Coronavirus, it is hard to make decisions. We, at bd4travel are also facing the challenge of our time. Should we wait for more information? Do we overreact?
COVID-19 challenges us
Two weeks ago we, as a business, took a conscious decision to not actively attend the biggest travel industry show, ITB in Berlin, due to the beginning spread of the Coronavirus. The cancellation of the event by the trade show organiser validated our approach back then.
Last week, the World Health Organisation (WHO) declared the COVID-19 outbreak a global pandemic. Adding to the slew of measures that various countries have already implemented we witnessed a shutdown of entire countries and every day new restrictions and self-limitations are recommended and applied.
Most important: Stay healthy and safe.
It’s of utmost importance for us to know that our staff, team members, families, and clients are safe, that the business continues, that we stay in control as best as we can and overall that we support the slowing down of the spread. Luckily, all our team members are well, and none of our employees is infected.
The bd4travel team works remotely as of Mar 16th
Therefore, bd4travel decided to work virtually from home office as of Monday the 16th March 2020 for at least 2 weeks. Part of the decision also is, that the bd4travel staff will not conduct any business travel activities for the time being.
At times, only a core team will be in the office to keep control of the facilities.
Luckily bd4travel as a business is not depending on staff working in the office. We are very thankful for our flexible team, who already set themselves up in their home office. Many thanks also to all our colleagues who are parents and now need to handle the care of their children in parallel – due to the countrywide shut down of schools. Therefore, we are confident that our work and availability should continue as normal as possible and all meetings should happen virtually.
We know that this also reflects the expectations of many of our clients, who, if not in home office mode themselves, stopped allowing visitors to enter their facility.
Meet the bd4travel team virtually
We are sure you are supporting the decision not to hold face to face meetings. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org, to arrange a virtual meeting. We are here for you to support your strategic initiatives and work on solutions in those challenging times.
The bd4travel management team will review the situation every two weeks and share an update accordingly before the end of March.
A service to the society: Stay at home, stop the spreading.
The overall social task right now is to curb the outbreak of Covid-19 or slow down the spreading. Not for ourselves – that too, of course – but in the service of society as a whole: on the one hand to relieve our medical care and on the other hand to reduce the likelihood that more people will be infected.
The only way to prevent this is social distancing today. Not tomorrow. Today.
Thank you very much for your cooperation, understanding and support.
